Office Space
Lyon Shipyard maintains a large customer office building central to our main yard and within a 4 minute walk to any of our piers where the vessel will be berthed before and after being in drydock. There are 8 separate offices in this building completely furnished with 2 to 3 desks and 3 plus chairs per office. Each office has multiple overhead fluorescent light fixtures and multiple electrical receptacles meeting or exceeding the requirements of ICC/IBC, ICC/IFC, and NFPA 70. Each office is heated and cooled and can be controlled independently. Each office is lockable as is the entire office building. There are direct phone lines with phones and a fax machine in each office, with connection through our main phone system. We maintain a storage building with additional furnishings should the need arise.
For our South Yard where our No.1 Drydock is located, we maintain fully furnished office trailers within a 2 minute walk to the drydock, all meeting or exceeding the same requirements.
Parking
Lyon Shipyard maintains parking areas in excess of 80 vehicle capacity for customer use at both our Main and South yards, all within a 5 minute walk to the vessel and office spaces.
Warehouse
Lyon Shipyard, Inc. has over 25,000 square feet of interior weather protected, climate controlled, dry, lockable storage space available, including a separate Government Property storage building in excess of 6,000 square feet (over 60,000 cubic feet) to accommodate storage and protection of all GFE for any task order. These facilities are maintained in our main shipyard and are located in both the northeast and northwest corners of the property. All property is fenced for security and traffic is controlled by 24 hour security guard service. Access to the secured Government Storage is controlled by our Contracts Department, while access to all other storage is controlled by our Purchasing/Warehouse Department.
Electrical Power
Lyon Shipyard maintains 3 phase shore power connections and cabling at each and every pier and drydock. All shore power cabling meets or exceeds the requirements/standards for use on government vessels including U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. Vessels as always will be grounded. All grounding and shore power connections are installed by our experienced electrical shop under the direction of the Electric Shop Foreman. All connections are checked on a daily basis for conformity.
Compressed Air
Compressed air connections are maintained at each pier and drydock utilized for this contract. We maintain 150 PSI and up to 3800 CFM at each connection, and can connect to a vessel’s compressed air system or a contractor furnished manifold as required. Regulating valves are installed in the connection lines to control the air flow to meet the vessel’s needs. Additional 100-foot supply hoses are readily available for use as needed by ship’s force.
In House Production Technical Support
Lyon Shipyard utilizes the AutoCAD software program and has used it successfully to accomplish detailed design changes to electrical and piping systems, ventilation and structural items on various vessels. This also includes equipment relocations to support customer messing and berthing and office space reconfigurations. AutoCAD drawings are generated in house and have the ability to be printed out.
Purchasing Department
Lyon Shipyard’s Purchasing / Receiving Department maintains procedures to ensure purchased product conforms to the specified requirements.
