Arriving on the evening of April, 22nd, the number 3 dry dock completed the final leg of its 3100 mile journey as it reached the main yard. Travel began on the Ohio River. After traveling the Mississippi River the dry dock stopped in Homa, Louisiana for repairs. This project has been in the works for quite some time.
Measuring 150′ x 74′ with the capacity of 2200 tons, this dry dock will increase the overall capacity of the yard. It is envisioned that the primary use will be for tug repairs, with the ability to cater to other work as well.
