Water Born Removal of Z-Drive
Lyon Shipyard headed up the rigging, removal and reinstallation of two Z-Drives from a tug boat while in the water pier side at our facility.
Hull Rubbing Strip Modification
US Army engineered vessel hull modification to increase the durability of the hull during functional beach landings to offload cargo and weapons. Twenty four strips of steel were shaped to the contours of the vessel hull and welded in place.
5 year Special Hull and Machinery Survey
Drydocking of a 124’ X 35’ 7200 Hp ATB tug for a 5-year special hull and machinery survey.
Services provided to accomplish numerous overhauls and repairs including propulsion shafting, sea valves, steel plate renewals, and underwater hull preservation.
Aluminum Hull Repair
Dry haul of vessel for repairs to aluminum hull, steering and propulsion.
Pilothouse Renewal
Modification to Tug requiring the removal of old pilothouse and deck below in preparation for the installation of a newly designed, aluminum pilothouse.
Complete Redesign of Tugboat Steering and Propulsion
In order to accommodate the changing workload of a tugboat owner, Lyon Shipyard assisted in the redesign of the vessel's steering and subsequent modifications to the propulsion system. Once finalized, the redesign took shape on Lyon Shipyard's #3 railway.
